“Hot Pink Flamingos” Takes Wing in March 2010

Gangly flamingos, playful Magellanic penguins, young green sea turtles and colorful coral reef creatures share the stage in "Hot Pink Flamingos: Stories of Hope in a Changing Sea," a compelling new special exhibition opening March 29, 2010.

Through the eyes of remarkable wildlife, visitors will learn about the many ways that climate change is affecting ocean animals – and encounter tales of hope involving people and communities that are fighting climate change and making a difference.

Kit is Youngest Sea Otter to Join Exhibit

A rescued southern sea otter pup has joined the sea otter exhibit at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. On February 18, 11-week-old Kit became the youngest sea otter in the aquarium’s history to join the two-story exhibit, which is a permanent home for other rescued sea otters. Visitors can watch Kit and her 9-year-old companion, Mae, as they eat, sleep and play.

Discover the mysteries of seahorses and their kin in "The Secret Lives of Seahorses,” our newest special exhibition. More than 15 species of seahorses, sea dragons, pipehorses and pipefish entice visitors into their elusive world.
